Event Rules
Skirmish at Warm Springs North Carolina
June 5-6, 2010

- No Rank above Captain allowed without prior approval.

- Remove all vehicles from the encampment area when not actively loading or unloading equipment.

- Except under special circumstances please do not strike tents prior to event closing on Sunday.

- No vehicles allowed in camp after 9 a.m. Saturday.

- Motor homes and campers can arrange for space with the Hot Springs Spa. In addition, the Spa has a limited number of rental cabins. Please contact the Spa for more information.

- Vehicles must display a parking sticker available at check-in or be subject to towing. Adequate parking adjacent to camp is provided.

- Vehicles parked in the Spa Patron parking area will be towed.

- All participants, sutler, civilian, military, must be pre-registered. No walk-ons allowed unless specifically approved by the Event Coordinator

- Special impressions are NOT allowed, without prior approval of the Event Coordinator (Captain Smith, 2NCMI). Military units must dress in proper military uniforms commonly found in 1861-1865.

- No animals allowed at the event or on Event property except cavalry horses, with the exception of service animals. In the event of service animals, they must be pre-approved by the Event coordinator.

- Unit officers are responsible for their troops' safety in compliance with generally accepted safety practices. This includes but not limited to: no hand-to-hand combat; no fixed bayonets on the field; mandatory weapon safety checks; no weapons fired in camp or after dark, except as scripted by the event coordinators; standard artillery and cavalry safety precautions.

- Pistols are allowed ONLY for cavalry, dismounted, and Officers.

- Fires should be built only in designated fire pits, and trash deposited in appropriate receptacles, maintaining litter free camp areas. Extinguish all fires properly upon departure and re-cover the pit.

- Participants are required to comply with all reasonable instructions from event organizers to ensure the safety and comfort of participants and visitors.

- Please make every effort to maintain period correctness in camp as much as possible during public hours.

- Military camps should have a military appearance, no farbism or non-military aspects allowed. Civilians camping with military personnel are required to dress in period outfits for the duration of the event.

- Civilian camps, if any, must be approved by the event coordinator and all civilians are required to dress in appropriate civilian attire for the duration of the event.

- Violations of these simple standard rules will be reported immediately to the command of each unit for action; with possible ejection from the event.

- Please be aware that camps could be subject to inspection by local law enforcement.
